I'm Melody, I'm 27, and I'm sick and fracking tired of being Iranian-American. I said it. I'm SICK OF IT!!!!!!!! Give me a bed and a pillow because I AM TIRED.
A metaphor: I'm a strawberry in a barrel of pomegranates at home (ha-ha, you see, I'm clever! Iranians love pomegranates!) and a strawberry in a barrel of apples in the outside world (for me, Boston). I'm red like them, but they're tougher and bigger than me, and I'll get squished if I stay stuck in there with them for too long! And I really suck at metaphors. Yeah, deal with it.
In this blog, you can expect whining about being Iranian in American culture, whining about being American in Iranian culture. So, lots of whining. If you don't like whining, leave. Whining. Whine. W.
